Our Pastor

The Rev. William B. Henry, Jr. is a 1979 graduate of Thiel College with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy.  He received his Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg in May 1990, and was ordained by Bishop Donald J. McCoid at the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod Assembly of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on June 15, 1990. 

He served as the pastor of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenock, PA from June 1, 1990 until September 30, 2002.  Pastor Henry began his call at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Brighton, PA on October 1, 2002.  Pastor currently serves as a member of the Synod Council of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod.

Pastor Henry enlisted in the United States Navy in June 1981, serving as a Cryptologic Technician until his discharge from active duty in January 1986 with the rank of Petty Officer Second Class.  He received his commission as a Chaplain Candidate Program Officer in the United States Naval Reserve in May 1986.  He resigned his commission in July 1992 having attained the rank of Lieutenant.

Pastor Henry is married to the former Debra Wilson.  They are the proud parents of three children:  William III, Robert, and Haley.

Pastor's hobbies include music, heraldry, camping, model railroading, and motorcycles.  He is an Associate Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America (Chapter 862) and is currently the president of the American Heraldry Society.
